A Full Day Among the Giants
We collect you from your hotel at approximately 6:30 AM and make the scenic drive southwest through the Rift Valley landscape to Tarangire National Park, arriving at the main gate around 9:00 AM. From the moment you enter, the baobab-studded plains announce that this is a different Tanzania — ancient, raw, and teeming. Your guide will navigate the park's network of tracks, following fresh elephant trails down to the Tarangire River where vast herds gather. It is commonplace here to be surrounded by dozens — sometimes hundreds — of elephants, a humbling experience unlike anything else in Africa. We'll scan the riverine woodland for lions and leopards, cross the open swamp circuits alive with zebra and wildebeest, and stop for a picnic lunch with the river as our backdrop. The afternoon offers more game viewing before we begin the return drive, arriving back in Arusha or Moshi by early evening with a day you will not forget.
